Volkswagen Delivers its 1.5-Millionth All-Electric ID. Model
November 01 2025 - Team Gillman VW

Great qualities of electric propulsion include smooth, quiet torque delivery, excellent fuel efficiency, and lower maintenance costs—not to mention significant environmental benefits. That’s why Gillman Volkswagen is proud to announce that in mid-August, Volkswagen delivered its 1.5-millionth all-electric vehicle.

It was just five years ago, in September 2020, when the first Volkswagen ID model rolled off the assembly line. It was an ID.3, a Golf-shaped hatchback not sold in the U.S. Following closely behind was the ID.4, which is not only sold in the U.S. by Gillman and other dealers, but also built domestically at the Volkswagen plant in Chattanooga, Tennessee. The 1.5-millionth Volkswagen EV was a black ID.7 sedan, a vehicle planned for (but not yet sold in) the U.S. It rolled off the plant in Emden, one of three Volkswagen assembly plants fully dedicated to EVs. Volkswagen currently produces EVs in Europe, the U.S., and China.

“1.5 million ID. models delivered – this clearly shows that Volkswagen is a pioneer in the field of electromobility,” said Martin Sander, board member for Sales, Marketing, and After Sales. Indeed, Volkswagen is currently the largest supplier of electric vehicles, not only in Germany but across the entire European market, and the ID.7 was the best-selling electric vehicle in Germany in the first half of 2025.

Volkswagen continues to advance its exciting electric vehicle journey. It plans to introduce more ID. models, starting with the production version of the compact ID. 2all, which will be available for under 25,000 euros ($29,313) in 2026. Just a year later, it'll release the ID. EVERY1, an affordable entry-level option priced around 20,000 euros ($23,450). It's an inspiring step toward making electric mobility accessible to more people.

In the US, the ID.4 recently received a refresh with a new entry-level trim, a redesigned center console, and a 12.0-inch Discover Pro Max info system, along with features like Park Assist Plus and the Travel Assist system for highway cruising. And of course, the initial deliveries of the unique ID. Buzz, which is one of the most exciting EVs on this side of the pond, are still the biggest news.

All this indicates that Volkswagen is preparing to become one of the top EV producers worldwide, with models designed to fit every income level and lifestyle. Gillman Volkswagen currently offers a few of its models; these quality vehicles exceed the needs of many people. Visit Gillman Volkswagen of Kingwood to test drive the ID.4 and ID. Buzz.
