Keeping tabs on your Volkswagen should be as easy as looking at your smartphone. But wouldn’t it be even more convenient to access your vehicle information on your smartwatch? Volkswagen now has that covered. You can now download the myVW+ app onto your watchOS and Wear OS devices. 

The app is made for both internal combustion and electric vehicles. To use it, you must be enrolled in a connected vehicle service plan. You have the option to choose plans such as Remote Access, Safe & Secure, and Vehicle Insights for smartwatch use. Plus, you will get notifications from the app to get you engaged with your Volkswagen.  

The smartwatch integration offers access to various functions. They include Lock/Unlock, Honk & Flash, Vehicle Status, and Lock Status – all part of Remote Access. In internal combustion models, you have access to Remote Start/Stop (if equipped) and Fuel Status. Electric models add Remote Charging, Charge Status, and Climate Start/Stop - if equipped. 

There are other features the myVW+ app offers. You can find a good parking place in the app and enable location sharing through the in-vehicle navigation system to be guided back to the vehicle. This feature also lets you keep tabs on your vehicle while you’re dining or going to the movies.  

The Safe & Secure feature gives you access to various functions through a three-year subscription. These functions include Emergency Assistance, Information Assistance, Automatic Crash Notification, Anti-Theft Alert (requires the myVW app), Stolen Vehicle Location Assistance, Vehicle H.E.L.P.®, and Road Awareness Alerts. 

With Vehicle Insights, you can see how your Volkswagen is doing by checking its health and status. It also sends maintenance alerts for oil changes or other scheduled services. You can also schedule service in your app. 

When you are ready, make sure you download the myVW app to your device from the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store. You will have to accept the Terms of Service when you do. Then, add your Volkswagen to the virtual garage. From there, just accept the Terms of Service for myVW+ and subscribe to the plans you want to use with this program.
