2025 Volkswagen Atlas and ID. Buzz Are the Best Cars for Car Seats
November 10 2025 - Team Gillman VW

Having a family and deciding on the right vehicle to accommodate not just car seats, but also the things that go along with having young children, such as strollers, diaper bags, and the like, can be a daunting task. However, thanks to Cars.com, knowing what new vehicles fit car seats best can at least take that off your plate. For 2025, the website awarded the 2025 Volkswagen Atlas and ID. Buzz as two of the best cars on the market for car seats.

Who Is Cars.com

Cars.com is renowned for being a leader in car news, reviews, as well as searching for new and used cars online. Its Best Cars for Cars Seats puts automakers, like Volkswagen, to the test to ensure all new models are being designed and engineered with children’s safety seats in mind.

What Cars.com Had to Say

“The 2025 Volkswagen Atlas earns its spot as one of Cars.com’s 2025 Best Cars for Car Seats thanks to a three‑row layout that delivers consistent A grades. Its second row, whether configured as a bench or captain’s chairs, offers easy‑to‑find Latch anchors, stable buckles, and ample space — even allowing three car seats across with the bench seat — and drama-free third‑row access and accessible top tethers keep the whole family secure and comfortable,” said Jennifer Geiger, Cars.com News Editor and Certified Child Passenger Safety Technician. “Meanwhile, the all‑electric ID. Buzz was a Top Finisher in our rankings thanks to its wide, flat seats with exposed lower anchors, removable head restraints, and easy third‑row entry — features that make it a standout for families looking for an EV that’s as practical as it is playful.”

The 2025 Volkswagen Atlas

The 2025 Atlas got all As in its Car Seat Check, and with seven seats, buyers can easily fit more than one kid and their stuff without breaking a sweat with 20.6 cubic feet of cargo space behind the third row. For 2025, the Atlas starts from $40,785 and is powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine that produces 269 horsepower and 273 lb-ft of torque and is mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission. While front-wheel drive is standard, 4Motion all-wheel drive is an option. Most Atlas models can also tow up to 5,000 lbs.

The 2025 Volkswagen ID. Buzz

The ID. Buzz is a brand new all-electric van that received straight-As in all but one category, where it got a B for putting booster seats in the third row. At $61,545, the ID. Buzz has an EPA-estimated range of 234 miles for rear-wheel drive models and 231 for 4Motion-equipped models. Buyers will be able to charge 10-80% with a DC fast charger in just 26 minutes.
